(2015)  — A West Michigan basement-waterproofing company has won a prestigious award granted by an international organization. The 2015 Construction & Engineering Awards has tabbed Great Lakes Waterproofing as “Best for Commercial & Residential Basement Waterproofing in USA.” The award granted by the Build Inc. development conglomerate was based on a combination of factors, including best practices, customer satisfaction and response times.

“It’s an incredible honor,” says Great Lakes Waterproofing President Donald Joyner. “No other company in the region has captured this recognition before.” Joyner has been running the company since 1978. It originated in the Chicago and Kalamazoo areas, and has spread throughout the Midwest. Joyner says the company’s patented outside the basement waterproofing process – Bentonite injection with no digging – has been a major factor in Great Lakes’ success, along with state-of-the-art drain tile, sump pump, and foundation stabilization processes.
